The Bucket List

I have always been a list person.  I love making list and then completing the items.  It always feels so rewarding.  I haven't however treated my 'Bucket List' the same way.  I guess it took realizing tomorrow, next month or next year is not promised.  Don't wait for what you believe will be the ideal time.

Now is the ideal time!

Make your bucket list and go do it.

January

Launch my own business.

This has been a labor of love that has now come to fruition.  With metastatic breast cancer I initially had a difficult time feeling comfortable planning for the future.  It was scary to think that a plan for the future might get sidetracked or become unattainable due to cancer.  And then I thought...Why am I giving cancer any power over my future plans?  I will live in my now and cross bridges, challenges and mountains as they come.  I am committed to live vibrantly and not in the shadow of cancer.

Embrace Yoga

You might have heard of "Goat Yoga Classes", but I have put my own spin on things. I have started "Pug Yoga" at home!

My three pugs, Dexter (black pug), Clairece (bottom left), and Daphney (bottom middle and right) are always excited to join me on the yoga mat and make the exercises that much more challenging.

Refinish a Special Piece of Furniture

I personally don't have experience with any furniture refinishing, but I have some dining room pieces that were very special to my mother. This will be a fun learning experience and will end with a special addition to my home.

Hot air balloon ride!

This just seems like it would be so much fun.  It is also an ease into a later goal of sky diving!

Golf lessons! Improve my swing...

Okay, so my husband loves golf and for HIS birthday last year he bought ME golf clubs.  I did go out once and it was NOT pretty, but it was fun.

Water-slide Adventure

This is to conquer a fear.  In my past I had this crazy fear of water-slide with tunnels.  It was the first time I realized I had some issues with being claustrophobic.  Logically I get it, the tunnel takes all of 5 seconds, but my anxiety still would get away from me.  So now that I have tackled something much bigger in life than a 5 second water run through a tunnel, I am going to try it again!

Deep Sea Fishing Trip

Charter a boat and go out on the sea fishing. A relaxing but exhilerating experience.

Improv Comedy

I totally believe in the power of laughter.  I said I would do a stand-up routine one day, so it is now in my plan.  Just thinking about it is a little scary, but hey many things are scarier than trying to make people laugh.

October

Go Skydiving!!!!

So here is a big one!  I have never done anything this adventurous!  If I don't pass out from fear, I am sure I will love the feeling of exhilaration!

Make a beautiful meat pie!

My husband and I love cooking shows and one of our favorites is The Great British Bake Off.  I want to try to make one of the intricately designed meat pies.

December

Make a gingerbread house!

I have admired the detail that can be achieved in gingerbread houses.  This will be another first for me.   I think this might just be a great project for the family.
